Fun facts about Kai...

Since Kai hasn't told you any fun facts about himself, it's my duty as his mother to embarrass him. Here goes:

Fact 1: Kai can now blow raspberries....adding increasingly to the slobber on his chin

Fact 2: Kai is babbling a lot more now...especially when he cries. It's as though he's trying to complain to us through his tears!

Fact 3: Kai now has TWO bottom teeth and I think one may be ready to break through up top!

Fact 4: Kai tries to eat his Gerber puffs like his momma eats her popcorn - by the handful. He takes an entire handful, puts his fist in his mouth, then tries to open his fist. He then takes his fist out of his mouth, opens his hand, looks at the puffs and you can see the wheels turning...."I don't understand. I can open my hand here...why doesn't it work when it's in my mouth???"

Fact 5: Kai LOVES bath time! No matter how crabby he is, if you put him in the bath, he is happy, happy, happy. He loves to splash in the water and play with his "flashy quackers"...ducks that light up when they are in water. His latest move is to just lie back in the water and hang out. I think he will love swimming!

Fact 6: Kai is amused by the pets. Every time he sees Zippy, he squeals and laughs. He's buds with Smokey and will often lie either next to him or partially on top of him. He will stop whatever he is doing if one of the kitties walks in the room...just to see what they are up to!

Fact 7: Kai is always content in the Baby Bjorn. He has often helped Momma vacuum and do laundry! Doesn't look comfortable to me, but hey - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

That's it for now.

Thanksgiving

Hi There!

It's been a while since I updated my Blog (Daddy is always hogging the computer... I rarely get to use it), so I thought I'd share some pictures from Thanksgiving.

Here Granny is feeding me something tasty:

My special Thanksgiving bib!

Hey, this is fun! Whoa, what do you mean it is only once a year?

Okay, I'm ready for a little walk (or a stroll, as it were) after that big meal... time to bundle up!

You know what they say - "All Work and No Play"...

Well, time to get going... wait a minute, what happened to my hat???

DADDY! Why are you so silly?

Bye-bye, Granny!

So long, Grandpa...

You mean the fun isn't over? I get to see more relatives? Hi, Pappy!

Happy Thanksgiving, Lao Lao!

Mommy and me:

Hanging out with Aunt Patty...

I finally get to meet my cousin Shane:

I remember Cousin Shelby... she said I was the cutest baby ever!

I'll bet you a nap that I can make Pappy laugh...

Who's got my feet? It's the Momma!

Snuggle time with Gammie...

Please... lift me up one more time, Shelby! Oh, how embarrassing... my belly is showing!

Ok, on the count of three, everybody say "Ahhhhh!!!" 1... 2... 3...

Time to change into my jammies...

Hello Aunt Jan!

Time to go... Oh, no... not again! Mommy, I think Daddy's silliness is starting to rub off on you! (or is it the other way around? I heard that Daddy was very serious before he met you...)

Now, this is really getting out of hand! I'm going to start charging 25 cents to borrow my hat!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Teeth!

Look, Ma! I've got two little teeth now! Click on this picture for a close-up view...

So, What's the deal with these "teething biscuits"? I'm not quite sure what to do with them...

Oh, Never mind! I think I've got it figured out now:

Whew, teething all day has me tired out. Time to grab some snacks and the remote and watch a Baby Einstein video...

(don't worry... the Trail Mix isn't actually opened. Mom and Dad know some of those little pieces are a choking hazard and I'm not ready for it just yet).

Children's Museum

Yesterday, I met my friends Ryan and Sarah at the Children's Museum... it was great fun!

There was a big Mister Rogers exhibit. Oh, what's that? (Meow-meow, meow meow meow) I think maybe I just heard Henrietta Pussycat whisper something...

Then, we walked through this wacky "Gravity Room" that was all crooked and then Mommy and I slid a really fast slide... WHEEEEE!!!

Believe me, I wasn't taking any chances here... I had a death grip on my binky!

Oh, wait - Don't look now, Sarah! I think they're taking our picture (again).

Well, this train is pretty neat. I'm not exactly sure what to do with it, though. I think I definitely need to come back here and explore some more!

Unfortunately, Mom and Dad did not seem to get any pictures of my buddy Ryan (the Museum was his great idea, too!) Maybe he'll email one to me to add to the blog?

Kai turns seven months old

Pappy & Me!

A visit from Granny & Grandpa!

Why does Daddy keep putting things on my head? It's not cute and it's not funny. Okay, maybe it is cute. It's still not funny.

I'm not sure if I'm too wild about my new swing. I sure do like my bear, though - thanks Liz, Matt, Maggie & Sarah!

Just hangin' around with Mommy (notice that Mommy's eyes look just like mine in this picture!):

I love bathtime... especially playing with the Flashy Quackers, which light up!

Aunt Jan stopped by to visit me!

Mom and Dad are trying to get me started on "solid" foods... Is this what they had in mind?

My Pals, Mason & Kaleb!

Word: Cute - Pronunciation: \ˈkyüt\ - Definition: "Kai"

Here are few recent photos of Kai.

We bought Kai a new hat for winter, given the fact that we had snow showers last week - the hat has a little bear face on it, but you can't see it very well. You will notice he is hanging out in his new walker - unfortunately, he isn't very mobile because his legs are too short!

Here's Kai with his "I love daddy" bear - not only does he love daddy, but he's pretty fond of his bear, too....

Not sure what Kai is up to here...he's too young to have a monkey on his back!

Kai's Aunt Patty and Cousin Saige came to visit him last week - here is a picture with Saige (Shelby, are you jealous???)

And finally, this is one of my favorite shots of Kai to date:

Kai's First Halloween

I may be too young to go out trick-or-treating, but I still make a cute little pumpkin!

Please, Mom, give me some candy!

No? Okay, I guess I'll just have to help myself, wrapper and all! Who needs teeth?

Recently my new friends the McConnell Family came by to visit me!

I'm starting to learn about vegetables... my first taste of squash!
